God is good, Sabu. God is good.

This is how we know He loves us: Jesus Christ laid down his life and still keeps showing up again and again and again...

MORNING TIME:

* Monet sunrises. All the muted colors blending well as night passes cooly. day waits while the sun awakes like a four year old, soo crazy excited!! But dawn, thank goodness, has the wisdom of age, not rushing the dew or the mist or the morning star by the hangnail of the moon. letting the rhythm of the last breaths of last night linger.

PEOPLE I'LL NEVER SEE AGAIN:

* the guy I almost ran off the road, the mild effect of my poor effort to capture the glory of the moment of that watercolor sunrise on my camera-phone, radio morning show yapping in the background, the rush of morning traffic a blur while I'm lost in the trappings of my imagination, which had me running across the great plains into the arms of a brand new day.. maybe he appreciated this morning above all the others before today having survived one more drive down I-25. I don't think he was this much into sunrises yesterday. I'll never know this side of heaven, where I almost sent him.

* Carl from Ikon just walked in. to talk copiers with the office. Being the pseudo-director of First Impressions here at Summit Wealth Group for a couple of days, I politely offered him a cup of coffee, hoping he'd say no because someone poisoned it this morning. lethal black. I mean, we're talking Turkish warriors would probably high five said coffee maker. He declined and we chatted a bit about the weather while he waited. The man has five strapping sons (he's Mormon, so I assume strapping), and as of 5:53 this morning, a granddaughter! Emily. Carl now carries himself like a grandpa, that is, I think he'll smile a lot more easily in the coming days and years.

* servers at Chili's make people happy. Jerry gave Lilliya a surprise molten chocolate cake dessert with vanilla ice cream on a plate that said "Welcome to the USA" around the rim. He doesn't even know her! I don't even know her really. I just know she's lovely and kind with a heart-shaped face and a really bright mind. I know she knows when the constitution was written but hasn't heard the Beach Boys yet. And I know what Jerry knows: we are so blessed to live in this country. yes, I said it out loud. I'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! where restaurant workers make people's dreams come alive in the form of a mountain oozing sugar. This is quite a land.

CREATIVE THINKERS:

* fireplaces=good places. It's like a little safe volcano for the home. brilliant. [see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fireplaces for more information. of course Ben Franklin is mentioned.]

* Larry McMurtry. Lonesome Dove. I started reading it sentimentally in Montana so I could drag my western life all the way across the country knowing that I'll probably be somewhere near the Atlantic when I finally read the last page. which will symbolize so much. what a sad day that will be: no mountains in sight, and no more Augustus, the love of my life. good thing I'm pickin' up a cowboy of my own halfway..

SPEAKING OF JOHNNY JACK JUNIOR:

* Dear diary, here's a heart moment to keep you going: johnny sat up late last night on the computer, which he hardly knows how to use, and searched and searched and searched for the perfect restaurant in Denver for me to eat at tonight. He even enlisted my sister to help. Together, they found and reserved a table at Soleil Mediterranean Grille. Johnny ordered for me already and paid for everything. what? I know. he's good. unless he ordered lamb. which I'd eat just because. sigh. I love him;*
